OSHAKATI
Far, far, far north....
Frans and his sister and brothers. Frans took me to his village out in the countryside, 1,5
hours walk from town..!
Robert, what do you think about the soil? The plants look quite healty, or? Growing Mahango, the traditional seed which they are using for porrige and everything else eatable, tasty or not.
Frans' grandpa is making these lovely small things and selling in markets. People in north are very business oriented after what I have heard, and this is a good proof :)
Sure, sure :)
If I wasn't already married (?? ;)), I think Mr. Grandpa, 85 years old, could have married me on the spot!
Made by ants!
Oooops... Tänkte inte på det...
The border town to Angola: Oshikongo (all major cities in the North starts with "O"!) It was a bit fun to see, because people literally flocked over the border with cheap commodities from the Namibian side. Oshikongo is an investment paradise for Chinese business, established thanks to an agreement between China and Namibia after generous financial support to Namibia during the war for independence. Unfortunately, it is also a paradise for prostitution and human trafficking, both women and children. Truck drivers from South Africa - the rest of Africa or the other way around are taking advantage and making money, money...
